The Cruise: Thursday

December 8, 2011

Today's port: Costa Maya, Mexico!

Can you guess what we did for breakfast?
Yes,
room service.
Except let me say that they would always come exactly 30 min. too early.
{and we'd end up having to scramble into our clothes, or poke our head around the door}
We finally got the hang of it,
and started writing down our drop-off breakfast time 30 min. later than planned.
It was right on time.
{random, but i wanted to tell about it}

9am when the ship docked we were off.
Thursday's excursion was to go visit the Chochoban Ruins.
We took another bus ride to the ruins this day...

...and we fell asleep again.
{we were always up too late partying, okay?!}
We got to walk through another cool jungle to see these ruins.

The one bad part I can remember {and must tell about},
were the mequitos and fire ants.
I'd stop and then look down and there'd be about a billion ants crawling into my shoes!
Eeeeek!
And I think I'm the only one that got 8 mesquito bites in 1 minute.
Stupid bugs.

Our tour guide's name here was Joel.

This is the side of that first building we were standing on.

Then Joel led us around to the back.
They used to let tours go inside,
but peeps started being dumb and started vandalizing it.

In the picture on the left above,
they told us that mound behind us is another small pyrimid that they haven't uncovered yet.

Because our excursion included not only the ruins,
we headed for our next stop:

Lunch,
 and swim time at the LAGOON!
We ate lunch in this cool hut that overlooked the lagoon.
They fed us delicious chips and salsa,
fajitas,
and pina coladas!
Virgin style, of course.
{they are technically called pinnadas...}

We lucked out.
It was beautiful weather:
hot and overcast!

The best part?
We had the whole lake to ourselves!!

First we went kayaking!!
{our first time - and it was SOOO FUN!!}

Then there was the tramp.

Photobucket

The girls had fun watching at this point...

Just pulling another sweet face.

Photobucket

Dun dun.
Dun dun dun dun dun dun....

Photobucket

And back to the trampoline...

Our boys were having so much fun,
the other guys that were with us decided to join in too!

Hmmm...who's belong to who?

Photobucket

It was so relaxing and fun - we wanted to stay here for the rest of the day!
This was probably our second favorite excursion {well, the private lagoon part, that is}.

On our way home our guides let us stop and try more yummy salsa:

Just on the side of the road.

We made it back to the boat just in time,
and found a little monkey-dude waiting for us:

Tonight was super fun!
Dinner was eaten at the Blue Lagoon.
Then we went and watched a neat acrobat show,
 and finished the night watching the "Dancing with the Stars" show....

...that Josh ended up being a contestant in!
Muahaha!
He did awesome,
but prefers to dance alone....not with a partner.
